Kyle Zimmerman Featured in February 2009 Professional Photographer Magazine
Professional Photographer Magazine, the oldest exclusively professional photographic publication in the Western Hemisphere, has featured noted Albuquerque photographer Kyle Zimmerman and her work for local non-profits in its February 2009 issue.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM, February 27, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Professional Photographer Magazine, the oldest exclusively professional photographic publication in the Western Hemisphere, has featured noted Albuquerque photographer Kyle Zimmerman in its February 2009 issue.

"I'm thrilled to be able to talk about my work with non-profit organizations for the publication's Good Works feature," says Zimmerman. "I donated 150 hours of time and labor photographing the clients and projects of 12 local non-profit organizations with the goal of telling their stories through pictures. I called the project Larger Than Life."

Zimmerman had contacted the Albuquerque Community Foundation with the idea of finding one non-profit to which she could donate photographs as a way of giving back to the community for their support over the years. In discussions with them, she discovered what important work the Foundation does to leverage donor funds to make an even bigger impact. They worked together to identify 11 local groups, with the Foundation itself becoming the 12th non-profit.

The project ultimately included a series of copyright free images for each group on disc and a coffee table book of each organization's images for them to use in their marketing and donor appreciation efforts. Large format images from the project are on permanent exhibit at the Foundation's offices.

Zimmerman continues her work with local non-profit organizations each month. "As a professional photographer, this kind of work makes you remember how valuable your images are in terms of telling a story. To know that you can create something that's truly moving, that has an impact and is useful to a non-profit - that's a gift," she said in the article.
